History House is The Cotton-Smith House c.1890
Located in the Fairfield History House,
also known as the Cotton-Smith House, the Fairfield, Maine Historical
Society maintains it's research facilities in this house museum. While
illustrating 19th century living conditions in central Maine, the
Fairfield History House is the home to many historic exhibits as well
as important documents pertaining to the town and region's rich and
interesting history.
The Fairfield Historical Society meets on the second Thursday of
January, March, May, July, September and November usually at Lawrence Public Library. On many Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the year,
members meet to work on the History House and its collections. The museum
is available to the public at open houses in June and December and by
appointment.
